Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

146 RYLAThe Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is one of the most successful Rotary programmes run by Rotary clubs around the world.

The fun and intensive training programme for 14 to 30 year olds offers the leaders of the future a chance to get a head start at an early age. Talented young people attend a seminar, camp, or workshop – generally three to ten days in length – organised by Rotary club members

The District 1060 Rotary Youth Leadership Award programme is held at the prestigious Warwickshire College in Morton Morrell near Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire in early July. For full details of this year's programme and information on how you can take part, please visit

The RYLA programme gives young people and young adults the chance to improve leadership and communication skills, learn about businesses and institutions, explore career paths, share ideas and experiences, learn how to coordinate youth activities and community service projects in the community, and discuss creative approaches for resolving family, social, and professional conflicts.

Whether you are a secondary school student, university student, or young professional, RYLA provides a unique opportunity to learn, grow, have fun, and make new friends.

Rotary District 1060 Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) 2015 Morton Morrell

The success of the District 1060 RYLA programme has encouraged the organisers to expand the programme for 2015 to include 8 International students nominated by Rotary Clubs who can invite students from their twin clubs, or their International Rotary contacts, for home hospitality either side of the RYLA programme at Morton Morrell 13th – 19th and 24th – 31st July. Rotary District 1060 will cover the £325 cost for International Achievers to attend the RYLA programme at the college. Rotary Clubs in District 1060 are also invited to find and sponsor a student from the UK to take part in the RYLA from 19th – 24th July at a cost of £325 for the 6day (5night) programme full details of which can be found on the District RYLA website at

If you wish John to give a talk to your Rotary Club about RYLA in the District, and the history behind the programme which returned to Morton Morrell after a 10 year gap, please contact him from the details in the District Directory or through the youth week website. John also insists on paying for his own meal and expenses when giving talks to Clubs in the District.
