Lichfield Schools Concert

Over 300 children from eight local schools performed at the Garrick Theatre in Lichfield in the annual Rotary Club of Lichfield School’s Concert. They gained the experience of performing in a professional theatre. Some past performers have developed professional TV and theatre careers.

Schools who took part were -St Chad’s Primary School Lichfield, Saxon Hill Academy, the Thomas Russell Juniors from Barton under Needwood, Queen’s Croft High, The Friary School, St Mary’s Primary from Colton, Richard Cross Primary from Kings Bromley and the Howard Primary at Elford.

Director for the event was Rotarian Kelvin Armistead, whilst the compère for the evening was fellow club member Simon James-they both took up the challenge in dealing with the large number excited school children for both rehearsal and evening performances. Great credit should go to David Kershaw who used his many years experience to bring together this successful event.

Parents, relatives and friends packed the theatre and the profit from their ticket sales goes to the schools taking part.
