District Conference 26th – 28th October:

Hopefully you will have seen the recent note from DG Steve that I circulated on the 20th concerning bookings for the Conference. It is not too late to book in so please encourage your members to come and participate in the 2012 Conference in a new venue. All details available on the District web site or from PDG Peter Smith.

Directory Changes:

Changes to some personal information are available on the attached PDF.  This is available to Rotarians when they log on to the site.

Please note that Edgbaston R.C. will not meet in future on 5th Monday evenings at their normal venue. They intend to turn them into scatter nights.

Data Base:

I have been advised by David Chapman, Secretary of Knowle & Dorridge R.C. that if the admission dates shown for your members on the RI data base are incorrect and are more than 180 days out of date then they cannot be changed by Club Secretaries. David tells me, however, if you contact Data Services at RI sending them the correct admission dates they will correct them for you.


Please note that the RIBI Membership Services Committee has revised the format of the Proposal for Membership Form. The form can be downloaded from the RIBI website by clicking on this link. The form is about half way down the page.

RIBI are pleased to advise that printed copies of the 2012/13 RIBI Directory are available to purchase from the RIBI shop at a cost of £8.00, plus the usual P&P. Quantities are limited so please order early to avoid disappointment.

Future Vision:

In February/March 2013 District will be organising a number of “Future Vision” information & training events to inform Clubs about Future Vision which starts on 1st July 2013. DG Steve is asking Clubs to confirm their appointment of Foundation Committee Chair (2013/14) at the Club AGM rather than later in the Rotary year as is normally the case. That will ensure that there is a known point of contact for information and training.

District Council

A reminder that the first District Council Meeting of the year is scheduled for the 19th September at The Arden College, Knowle commencing at 7.00pm with tea & coffee available from 6.30pm.

The boxes containing items for Clubs to collect will be inside the main Hall instead of in the Foyer whilst the register of attendees will be in the Foyer area. If your Club cannot be represented will you please try and arrange with a neighbouring Club to collect your items and thus save District, and ultimately yourselves, the cost of delivery.

I will be away from the 30th August until the 8th September. Contact Asst. Secretary John Parkinson with any queries during that period.

Membership Changes:

Thank you to those that have done so but will you please let me have any changes in Membership numbers, gains or losses, so that the statistical information can be kept up to date. Information is welcome by e mail, letter or via the web site link.
