Secretaries Newsletter for June 2012

By Roger Coopey - Posted on 09 June 2012

This is the last newsletter of the current Rotary year. To those Secretaries who are retiring from the position then sincere thanks for your contributions and for those who are continuing if there is anything that you want covering in future editions then please let me know.

Please note that the Bromsgrove Club now meet at 19.30 every Monday evening at the Rose & Crown, Rose Hill, Rednal, Birmingham B45 8RT.

I have been asked by the Secretary of the Meriden Club to let you know that their President’s evening with Terry Waite raised the magnificent sum of £2,540 for ERASMUS Coventry.  At the same meeting Roger Ball was presented with a PHF.

Will you please note that PDG Don McConnell no longer receives emails. If you do need to make contact then use the phone or a letter.

Please let me know if you have a change of venue or meeting time so that it can be circulated.

I hope you are using the speaker section on the web site and please add any interesting speakers that speak to your Club The link is http://1060.org.uk/node/add/speaker but you do need to be logged in. To access the speaker list then follow http://1060.org.uk/speakers

The last formal District event of this Rotary year is the Handover at the Park Inn, West Bromwich on 27th June Although the initial deadline for bookings has passed you can still attend if you wish to do so. Contact DGN Bryan Carpenter, as soon as possible and definitely by the 17th June. The cost is £20 per head for a buffet supper and complimentary drink on arrival.

Early in the new Rotary year I will be sending out nomination forms for the positions of DGN 2013/14 (DG 2015/16), Assistant Governors (AG’s) 2013/14, there will be 3 vacancies, together with the vacancy for a Trustee for the 1060 District Trust (2012/15).

Please ensure the details are circulated to your colleagues and if you are retiring alert your successor that details will be emailed on or around the 12th July.

I hope you have all received, by email, the RIBI members newsletter for May. You will have noticed from that publication that there is a lot of information missing from the RI data base. Fortunately most of 1060’s details have been entered but if you have still got information to add will you please do so as soon as possible. Incoming Secretaries cannot access the data base until 1st July
