Next District Council:

Please remember that the next District Council meeting will now be held on Wednesday 21st November at 18.30 for 19.00 at the usual venue of the Arden Academy, Knowle. Hosts for the meeting are Alcester Alauna.

This is a very important meeting when the District has the opportunity to consider the proposed changes to the District boundaries within RIBI. Please endeavour to ensure that your club is represented. (There were 20 Clubs that did not have a representative at the last Council meeting). Details of the proposed changes, should by now have been sent to your Club President by RIBI through a web site link and I have also sent the link to Secretaries.

1060 International Service Projects Forum:

The above event will be held on the 24th November from 09.30 to 12.30 at The Tally Ho Conference Centre, Birmingham. Cost £5 per person.Details of the forum on the District web site www.1060.org.uk or from International Service Committee Chairman Bob Mowle

Please encourage your International Service Committee and indeed all members to attend

Club Matters:

Knowle & Dorridge Club will not be at their usual meeting place on the 22nd October. Instead they will be meeting at the Bilash Indian restaurant in Knowle from 18.30.

Tamworth Anker will not be meeting on 12th November at Drayton Manor Park, Instead they will be engaged in a Conker challenge with Bretby Rotary Club at Burton on Trent

Young Musician Competition:

Any Clubs that are thinking of entering competitors for the 2012/13 Young Musicians Competition please note that the Regional final will be held on the 23rd March at the Wolverhampton Music School, Graisley Hill, Wolverhampton, WV2 4NE.

Nominations for District Office:

There is still time to submit nominations for District Office for 2013/14. Details of the offices for which nominations are sought were circulated to all Secretaries on the 24th September. The deadline for receipt of completed nomination forms is 27th October 2012. If there is competition for any office ballot papers will be issued and the results declared at the November Council meeting.

International Fellowship of Flying Rotarians (IFFR):

The RIBI section of the above is the largest out side the States but they would like to increase in size. International & Hosting Fellowship (ITHF):

This Fellowship has about 1500 members in 76 countries but wishes to expand its Membership for the benefit of Rotarians and partners who enjoy International Travel & Hosting. If you missed the September Council then there is now a summary of the key issues that were considered on the web site www.1060.org.uk . Go to “For Members & Clubs” on left hand menu and then “District Documents” and the summary is then top of the list. The full minutes will be circulated with the Agenda for the next meeting

Membership Changes:

As always thank you to those that have done so but will you please let me have any changes in Membership numbers, gains or losses, so that the statistical information can be kept up to date. Information is welcome by e mail, letter or via the reporting form on the web site.
