By David Robinson - Posted on 27 April 2017

On Tuesday 25th April 2017, President John Green welcomed to the Club, Stuart Green, who had come to give a talk about his father, William Green.  William had survived 22 missions over Europe as a navigator in the Second World War before his plane crashed.  He then had been taken prisoner of war.  We were joined by Past President Dick Dixon's Mummer friends and our Ladies.  Stuart produced two model bombers, a Wellington and a Stirling, similar the aircraft in which William had been flying.  The talk lasted until 2.30pm with many questions being asked.  Past President Peter Thompson gave the vote of thanks for the talk which had been very well received.  President John gave Stuart a cheque for the Lincolnshire Bomber Command Memorial Trust and wished him well in the future.  Rotarian Brian Sharp took photographs.
