On Tuesday 15th March 2016, President Bob Preston introduced David Crout, who came to address Coventry North Rotary Club regarding the Destruction, Reconciliation and Rebuilding of the Frauenkirche, Dresden. The informative talk was illustrated with photographs both new and old. The protestant cathedral-like building, in the centre of the Dresden City, was situated in part of the old East Germany, and left as a pile of bricks following  its destruction in February in 1945 by Allied bombing.  It was rebuilt by World wide donations at the end of the 20th century.  The City of Dresden has close links with Coventry and the Cathedral . David Crout, the speaker, was well received and questions were asked. Rotarian Brian Sharp gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the Club. A cheque was presented to John for his charity concerning the deprived area in Wood End.  Photographs were taken by Brian Sharp.
