I will shortly be sending out nomination forms, to you, for Rotarians who wish to serve on District Committees for 2012/13. Please ensure that your Club members are aware of this opportunity to contribute to District activities. Existing Committee members who wish to continue must complete a new nomination form.

Grand Canyon Trek - May 2012

I have decided to get out my walking boots and take up this challenge! The new building is well underway but an additional £4,000,000 is needed to complete it. I stood on a few street corners rattling collecting tins in 2011 but I've decided more drastic action is now needed!

Membership Resources Team has been re-scheduled to 7.00 pm on Wednesday, March 28th at the Arden Hotel.

Urgent Appeal for RIBI linked project in Iramba

A project  in Tanzania that RIBI has been funding is in its final stages. We have  come so far with this project and have provided thousands of people  with a lasting supply of safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.

However, there is still a lot of work to do in order to reach everyone and we urgently need to drill 6 new boreholes and rehabilitate 8 shallow dug wells.

We are looking for a final push in funding between now and World Water Day, 22nd March 2012, to finalize this work.

Group Study Exchange

The selection date for the GSE team to go over to Brazil in May 2012 is coming up fast but there has only been interest from a few Clubs in District. Just to remind you that this was anounced at the last District Council meeting and all Clubs were circulated with the information. We need to select a Rotarian team leader and 4 team members. The team that came over here from Brazil actually had over 20 applicants from people who wanted to be in the team.

Disaster Aid UK & Ireland - Philippines Appeal

Disaster Aid UK & Ireland are appealing to fellow Rotarians to help with the aftermath of Typhoon Sendong. A newspaper cutting from 19 December is attached for more information.

Can I wish you and your families a very happy Christmas and rewarding New Year.

Thank you for letting me have the changes in Membership information during the last six months. Please continue for the rest of the year. It has allowed the District Governor to write to all new Rotarians with a letter of welcome and has helped to establish key information for the Membership Resources Team.

Hello Fellow Rotarians, Thinking of visiting Santa over the Christmas period ??? Well if so we would love to see you at Star City, where Erdington Rotary Club will be supporting Santa while he visits his Grotto during December. Please see the list below where you can find details on the dates and times Santa will be visiting. It would be lovely to see any of you who can make it, helping us raise funds for local Charities, and enjoying a day out at Star City. There is the facility to book a time slot to see Santa if that is more convenient for you.
