Mozambique – Flooding

Tracey Wilson (SA), David Good (SA)

A South-African based SRT has arrived in Mozambique to coordinate a response to the recent widespread flooding with the southeastern African country's National Disaster Management Institute (INGC), aid agencies already on the ground and Rotary.

Jordan – Syrian refugees – conflict

Ian Neal ( UK ), Stafford Sumner ( UK ), John Jones (Videographer)

The SRT have had meetings with Rotary and the Jordanian Red Crescent, who have been storing ShelterBoxes since last Summer, about how and where the ShelterBoxes can and will be best used to bring shelter to Syrian refugees. They travelled to Zataari camp in the north that is managed by the UN and Red Crescent and found there to be no need for tents as more caravans arrive for families. The SRT is now looking to work with Rotary to possibly distribute tents along the Syria/Jordan border for the influx of families crossing over. John is gathering content for SBI Comms.

Lebanon – Syrian refugees – conflict

David Webber (UK), Fiona McElroy (UK), Phil Duloy (UK), Jo Reid (UK), Mark Van Alphen (NL), Greg Rogers (UK), Richard Innes (UK), Malcolm Shead (UK).

ShelterBox has been invited by the Ministry of Social Affairs to provide 700 boxes containing winterised kit. The team is currently waiting for the kit to be cleared through customs before undertaking discrete micro distributions – it should be cleared later today. In the meantime, the SRT has travelled most of the country making assessments and has found a huge need for emergency shelter. For publicity queries please contact Phil Duloy ( or the SBI comms team.
