WATER-SURVIVAL BOX UPDATE - PHILIPPINES TYPHOON HAIYAN

By Stella Almond - Posted on 28 May 2014

Thanks  to the very significant response of Rotary Clubs across RIBI and Scandinavia we were able to send a total of 800 Water-Survival Boxes that were distributed by our partner aid agency Humanity First to displaced families in the Western Visayas area of the Central Philippines. With your help we have since been gradually building our stock ready for ‘the next one’.

Following the initial disaster response phase Dr Daud, leader of theHumanity First team provided a detailed report on the operation as requested by us. The report concluded with the following summary: Overall statement of the support given by WWW Ltd to the HF team: Humanity First is pleased to have been chosen as a first responder and we trust that the evidence that we have provided meets the requirements of the Board of Directors of WWW Limited Humanity First looks forward to this partnership subsisting for a long time to come. The continuing HF operation to assist in the restoration phase - In a nutshell: Humanity First helped 20,000 people; 10,000 people were provided with clean drinking water; 2,000 people received food and clothing; 800 families were given WSB with essential household supplies.
