GAVIN WILLIAMSON M.P. INDUCTED AS HONORARY MEMBER OF KINVER ROTARY CLUB

By Ian Maddock - Posted on 20 April 2014

President Nick Geoghegan and new honorary member Gavin Williamson M.P.

Gavin Williamson, Member of Parliament for South Staffordshire, has been a staunch supporter of Kinver Rotary Club for several years and was recently elected as an honorary member of the club. At his induction on April 14th Club President Nick Geoghegan reminded members and guests of Gavin's many contributions to the club and presented him with both his Rotary badge and a crystal jug and glass suitably engraved to mark the occasion. Gavin's response was both warm and amusing - particularly as he related the story of the day in October 2013 when he was appointed as Parliamentary Private Secretary to Prime Minister David Cameron.

Gavin asked members if they had any questions and delighted everyone when he drew the raffle ticket of Rotarian Rob Saunders, whose question was 'Could you draw my raffle ticket?' Gavin said it showed he kept his promises.

Kinver Rotary Club looks forward to a long and fruitful association with its newest member.
