KINVER ROTARY CLUB FLOATS THE BOAT FOR FOLEY INFANTS' SCHOOL

Strange as it may seem, the photograph does not show two old tramps who have found a new home and a bottle of bubbly to celebrate, it is actually Past President Alan Millichip and Rotarian Ian Watkins celebrating the relaunch of Foley Infants' School's Goodfriendship. It started life as a 6' by 8' shed on the school field. A prow and stern were added and it became a play area for children. Sadly, over the years the roof leaked and the paint peeled and it was no longer a suitable place for children to play. Past President Bill Wykes got to hear of the problem and a party of Kinver Rotarians set to work to restore the boat to good order. The school is now planning to plant some trees in the area, for some staff to be trained in the 'Forest Schools' programme and for the Goodfriendship to be used as a base for this activity.
