By Ian Maddock - Posted on 21 January 2013

Following the receipt of all sponsorships and the acquisition of relevant gift aid donations, the 10K run and associated 2k family run organised in September by the Rotary Club of Kinver has raised £4,275, bringing the total raised by the event over the past six years to more than £20,000.

Race organiser Rotarian John Pittwood described the final total as “magnificent” and congratulated almost 300 runners who took part in one of the most gruelling runs of its type in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Midlands, and he thanked all who had paid the cash to support the runners.

All monies collected by the runners, together with their entry fees into the race, have been donated to Action Heart as all overheads for the event had been previously met through financial support from BodyKraft of Pensnett, Safeline Environmental of Hartlebury and the Dudley Motor Company.

Kinver Rotary Club president John Brown also congratulated the runners on their efforts, and also thanked John Pittwood and his race organising team, all members of the club who had acted as marshals on the day and everybody else who had played a part in making the event so successful.

Speaking on behalf of Action Heart, Joy Brown says "I would like to thank members of Kinver Rotary for organising another successful 10K race in support of Action Heart which is very much appreciated. The Kinver 10k is an enjoyable event and we look forward to working together with Kinver Rotary for the 2013 Run".                               Mike Deathridge
