We want to grow our Rotary group with people who care about the world they live in and want to help others. The Club also provides for its members friendship, fun, social support and business networking through a programme of social and leisure activities. We welcome membership from diverse people who are ready to offer their work skills, business experiences, energy and commitment for the benefit of the community at large. Charity Quiz Raises More Money for the Group's Charities
Leamington Spa Regency Rotary organised for its Presidential Handover a charity fundraising quiz night. Teams from the town, surrounding areas and other Rotary Clubs competed and a pub style quiz at the Angel Hotel in Royal Leamington Spa.
Ian Brookes-Howells, Past President, handed over the ceremonial chain of office to New President, Karen Ralph at the evening. This was followed by a distribution of nearly £1000 to local charities. A further £300 was raised at the quiz for local charities.
Leamington Spa Regency Rotary wins first round of the District Quiz
Leamington Spa Regency beat Southam by just one point in the inter-club district quiz. LSR's team was captained by Ian with Ann, Sheilagh and Pat and had to tackle some very tough questions.
Leamington Spa Regency Rotary Feature on BBC Midlands Today!
Last night Warwick started its Christmas celebrations with a Victorian Christmas Evening and Leamington Spa Regency Rotary Club organised a hot dog stand – member Ian D. Brookes-Howells and his partner Dafydd L. Brookes-Howells dressed in Victorian gentlemen’s costume and they got interviewed on BBC local Radio and BBC Midlands Today featured them in the local news programme!
Come and Join Us? asks Leamington Spa Regency Rotary
Leamington Spa Regency Rotary Group is launching a new membership recruitment campaign called “Come and Join Us” with an exhibition at Leamington Spa Library from the 11th February.
The Butterfly Tree Charity
The Butterfly Tree Charity supports rural communities in Zambia decimated by the HIV/AID's pandemic - providing safe water, feeding programs, improved health and education facilities and an orphan sponsorship program. All funds go directly to the cause and all members are volunteers.
Warwickshire Young Carers
Warwickshire Young Carers' Project works with Carers from the age of 8 upwards, and aims to help improve the lives of young carers across Warwickshire. We support young carers in their caring role, give them an opportunity to relax and take a break, and help them to realise their own dreams. Leamington Regency Rotary has been a long time supporter of this charity, and helps to provide and support outings for these children.
Dictionaries for Life
The Group has for a number of years been involved in Rotary Internationals campaign to promote literacy in children. The Group has purchased hundreds of specially commissioned Rotary dictionaries and distributed then to local primary schools.
Group Helps Marathon Runners in Warwickshire
Leamington Spa Regency Rotary has been busy helping with community events this summer, manning a water station at the Stratford Marathon and marshalling the 2 Castles Run at Kenilworth Castle.
Leamington Spa Regency Rotary Raises £1500 for Myton Hospice
Leamington Spa Regency Rotary organised the bottle tombola at Myton Hospice Fete raising £1500 for the hospice.
