Rotary Club of Lichfield St Chad Schools Speaking Competition

The Rotary Club of Lichfield St. Chad inaugurated a Speaking Competition for secondary schools in the Lichfield District Council Area and this has expanded to be supported by the Local MP, Michael Fabricant and Arthur Price of England and schools from with the Lichfield Constituency. This competition is highly thought of by the schools participating and the standard of debate of a very high standard and at times controversial.

The event in 2017 is to be held at The Guildhall, Bore Street, Lichfield on Friday 3rd March and the subject for debate this year is “That this House believes that those taken to hospital by ambulance due to drunkenness shall be required to pay ambulance costs incurred”.

A panel of independent persons nominated mp by The Rotary Club, Arthur Price and the Lichfield City Council judges the competition and Michael Fabricant chairs the evening.
