Shipston on Stour

Perhaps you think that Rotary is a weekly lunch/dinner club where people sit and chat!

Last year we organised the Tour dĀ“llmington bike ride with 181 riders, the Rotary Victorian Evening, the Fashion Show, the Songs of Praise held at St Edmunds during the 'woolly weekend', an outing for the elderly of Shipston to Weston Super Mare and one Rotarian helped with the polio immunisation programme in India.....The Santa Street collections, before Christmas, are a moment to treasure for many children and we know that some are disappointed because we can't get round every Shipston street.

Our focus is on supporting young people both in schools and in the community. Many Rotarians help with CV writing and mock interviews at Shipston High School.

The Rotary Youth Speaks competition goes from strength to strength and Kineton High School, who only entered the competition for the first time two years ago, took the seniors honours this year They went on to the area competition and won that and are now in the Midlands area final.

A remarkable achievement already of which Shipston Rotary is very proud.

Win the Midlands final and they will be in the UK National Final.

Shipston Rotary organises the Rotary Victorian Evening and several Rotarians help with the organisation of the Shipston Wool Fair.

Coming up we will have a large presence at the Stratford Marathon and the Shipston Youth Clubs

X Fest.

You can't do all that just by having a weekly chat!
