Club Events

We will meet at the Materials Reclamation Facility in Norton on Tuesday 19th June at 1pm – club members will make their own way to the venue. Up to 32 adults in a group can be accommodated for the visit. There will be an introduction to how waste is managed across Herefordshire and Worcestershire, followed by a ‘tour’ of the facility from a viewing platform. The use of the platform means there is no requirement for additional protective equipment. Everyone will be provided with a headset so that they can hear an explanation of what is happening at each stage of the process. Only 16 adults can be accommodated on the platform at one time so, if there is greater number than 16, the party will be split into two groups for the tour. This means that for groups up to 16 in number visits usually last around two hours, for groups between 16 and 32 visits usually last two and a half hours. Visits to the facility are free. Only one wheelchair user per group can be accommodated and there is a lift between all floors for any members who are unsteady on their feet. Numbers visiting will need to be finalised by Monday 12th June.
