Philip Roberts and Peter Williams

Outgoing President Philip Roberts recently handed over the chain of office to Peter Williams, a relatively new member of our club, but a founder member and Past President of our 'daughter' club, the Rotary Club of Redditch Kingfisher.

In his final address to the club as President, Philip set out some of the club's achievements over the past year, with highlights including our presence at Morton Stanley Festival, and our 'Big Band Christmas' concert last December, which raised over £2,800 for charity. All in all, some £7,000 was raised during the year, bringing the total to more than £19,000 over the past three years.

Incoming President Peter Williams outlined his plans for the 2016/17 Rotary year, which will include fundraising and support for Batchley Support Group, a local charity which provides services and support to communities across Redditch.

Other highlights of the new Rotary year will include a visit from fellow Rotarians from Emden, Germany in September, and our 'Big Band Christmas' concert on 5th December.
