Following two days of thunderstorms and sometimes torrential rain, the sun came out on Sunday, 20th July for the Dormston Summer Fair, an annual fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Redditch in support of local charities.

This quintessentially English occassion, ideal for a lazy Sunday summer day, regularly features a range of traditional stalls, including bric-a-brac, bottle stall and activities to test the skill and strength of our visitors. Refreshments were available in the form of a pig roast - run this year by Mayor of Redditch Pat Witherspoon, assisted by Rotarian husband John. Teas and cakes were provided by the Inner Wheel Club of Redditch, and this year, the bar was set up and run by our 'daughter' club, Redditch Kingfisher.

In a departure from previous years, live music was provided by The Elliot Drew Trio - graduates of the Birmingham Conservetoire Jazz Course and Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra.

Our Prize Draw made a major contribution to the funds raised, and our thanks go to all those generous supporters who provided prizes.
