Glorious summer sunshine proved to be the icing on the cake on Sunday 21st July, when Rotary Club of Redditch held its annual Summer Fair in the Worcestershire village of Dormston. Now firmly established as a key fund-raising event in the Clubs' calendar, this traditional Summer Fair featured an eclectic mix of attractions, ranging from old favourites such as tombola and coconut shy, to pony rides and fitness demonstrations. A selection of classic cars turned up to provide mouth-watering interest for local 'petrol-heads', and opportunities to spend well-earned cash were offered by stalls selling books, bric-a-brac and locally grown plants.

Visitors had a choice of refreshments, including a pig-roast and barbecue, well-stocked bar and ice-cream. Tea and cakes were provided by the Inner Wheel Club of Redditch.

Summer Fair organiser and Rotarian Mike Luck was delighted with the visitor turn-out, and early indications are that well over £2,000 will have been raised for Rotary Charities, including St. Basils.
