President Kate Wilde with the visitors

Three young women from across the world helped give an international flavour to Solihull recently. Solihull Rotary Club was the venue for a visit by the President of the Meriden Rotary Club in Connecticut, United States and for 2 students from Poland and Czechoslovakia on a Rotary sponsored tour, bringing together people from different nations, to the UK to study Business and Society.

Tori Marshal Day from the American Rotary Club gave a short address pointing to the future of Rotary especially the drive in the States to welcome the next generation to ensure the continuing development of Rotary in the local community and achieve greater understanding. Increasingly new technologies are being used to improve communication. Specifically she described how Facebook was being used and online Rotary Clubs were developing.

Lucy Rihova from the Czech Republic, a student from the University of Prague studying life sciences, economics and management, congratulated Solihull on the great welcome she had received.

Wictoria Rosinska from Warsaw University Poland outlined a Rotary student exchange she had experienced three years ago in Mexico and endorsed her friend’s support for the warm hospitality she experienced in Solihull specifically from Ian and Sheila Courts members of Solihull Rotary Club.
