Cecily Etherington explaining the project to the club

Our club has been working on a new youth and community project, called ‘Your Green Future’  At our club meeting on Thursday 16th October, Cecily Etherington, project manager, from Severn Wye, will be attending to give a short talk and answer questions.  The project is being coordinated by Solihull Council and Severn Wye Energy and we have attended a first scoping meeting. Other clubs in the Solihull area are being invited to take part in this project which could be of vital help to our young people in their future lives. The project is aimed at school years 7 - 13 and is planned to take place on March 4th & 5th of next year at Solihull College. The aim is to engage 400+ pupils during the two day event.  Through creative activity workshops, pupils will investigate the changing face of business, sustainable business models, cutting edge technologies.  It is intended, for example, that students gain a unique insight into the many job and skill opportunities that are available now in green and sustainable industries This event follows several highly successful ones in the south west and Worcester, carried out jointly by local authorities, business and Rotary. There has been significant business support and JLR in particular have been very prominent, but also many small and medium sized companies: as many as 25 were involved in the previous project in the south-west As well as these workshops, there will be an exhibitors hall.  There is a website being filled out and there will be promotional material.     www.your
