Club Projects

Our club has a range of projects which allow our members to serve in a variety of ways.

Blackpool Holidays

Contact:
Rod Dyer

Each year, normally in May, we organise low-cost holidays for some of the older citizens of Southam and the surrounding villages.  We arrange a coach and accommodation, and help with local transport.

Gap Year Students

Contact:
John Dugmore

Many young people these days are seeking to broaden their experience by undertaking voluntary work, in under-developed countries, during school vacations. The Rotary Club of Southam 2000 appreciated that these trips can be costly for the student and has certain funds available to offer donations to suitable candidates.

Dictionaries For Schools

Contact:
Jim Sleight

This project is aimed at younger pupils in local primary schools. Each year, the Club has donated special Rotary versions of Usbourne Dictionaries to all pupils in their last year at the schools.

Young Chef

Contact:
Alan Mudd

In conjunction with Southam College and local businesses we organise the local heat of the Rotary Young Chef competition. We organise the local heat at the college. The winner goes on the the Midlands heat and maybe to the national final.

Mock Interviews

Contact:
Jim Sleight

Members act as interviewers and provide valuable feedback on these days at Southam College and help the sixth form pupils to prepare for the real thing..
