The Rotary Club of Southam 2000 has been supporting Southam College Eco Club Nature reserve since its inception.

On the 15th July the Nature Reserve was officially opened with glowing endorsements from MP Jeremy Wright and Councillor Mike Brooks, Mayor of Southam.

Some of our members also attended the opening of the Reserve. Our club, along with some local businesses and other local charities, has supported this project by way of contributing to the purchase of plants for the site,  and giving funds towards the purchase of a shed within the Reserve area. We liaised with Chris Philpott, Eco Club Leader, whose idea this was, and who co-ordinated the raising of funds and designed the reserve, which will be looked after by student Eco Club members.

On the 19th July, some of our members also volunteered to support an Enrichment Day at the College, where year 8 pupils worked in teams on business case projects. Our members helped to support and encourage the teams, who soon got into the processes and complexities of what makes a business profitable. Our club has been involved in this and other extra curriculum activities at the College over many years, and hope to carry this liaison forward for many years to come!
